Vicki's classes

If you have not taken one of Vicki's classes, you are definitely missing out! I am sad to announce that she and her husband are moving at the end of July :( I am happy for their new venture, and wish them all the blessings they deserve! She has such a gentle and calming force about her, that you can't help but adore her! Vicki is a special part of my support system for the stressful times in my life; I'm not even sure she realizes it. I learn so much from her classes, as a student and a teacher. Such a great friend & instructor, I'll dearly miss her!! I encourage you to take her classes. She teaches at the studio Monday & Wednesday's 6-7:30pm, Wednesday 9:30am & a Horizontal class 10:30am Thursdays. You can read more about Vicki's story on our website under 'About Our Teachers'.

These times & info are also on the website www.barefootstudio.com

Thank you, Vicki, for your dedication, love & smiles to the yoga community! xoox :)

Today's THV This Morning 6.22.09

Monday, June 22, 2009, I had the opportunity to be on Channel 11's morning show! It was very early, but I was so excited it didn't matter! Thank you to Alyson Courtney and THV for letting me represent Barefoot and talk about the benefits of yoga. I had a great time!

Open House 6.19.09

Barefoot's Open House Friday, June 19, was a HUGE success!! The love and support from the members, family, and friends was overflowing. What an incredible evening! This is the first big event I've ever hosted, and I wasn't sure how the night would turnout. I approached it like everything else I do in life...just a little bit of anticipation, and to let things happen the way they do.

A BIG Thank you, again, to Trio's for the wonderful food, and to the fabulous musicians, Judd Martindale & Nate Devlin...a beautiful combination!

Thank you to all the instructors, teacher trainees, volunteers, and Matt & Holly for joining us! Your help was very much appreciated! I adored seeing so many faces walk through the front door, and tried to hug everyone letting them know how much it meant to me that they came to show support! Thank you all SO much from my heart!

I'm posting some pictures from the event, but not all of them. The rest will be on the website shortly, so please keep checking back the next couple of days. Natalee, Thank you SO much for you continued support and dedication to the studio! Your pictures are heart warming! Much love sweet girl! xoox :)

Week One~Accomplished!

I've been asked numerous times how week one has felt, and my first reaction is great, but a little mind boggling. My second thought (that usually doesn't get out) is that I've been craving and dreaming of this time for a couple of years now, so it feels right. Right is exactly what I feel. There are some things I am learning, but what I look forward to the most is teaching classes, and hearing feedback. I am tickled that people are sharing their thoughts and ideas with me! It gets my creative juices flowing even more!

There are a few aesthetic changes to the studio, but very simple. By the time of the Open House, June 19, it will be a little different. One painting I've added is a 3D version of Lotus Pose (see pic below) with mixed bold colors. I bought this painting about three years ago, and never new where to place it. As soon as I knew this was a 'done deal', it was the first thing that popped into my mind! Just right!

The clothing is now marked down 30%, and there will be a new selection of styles & colors at the Open House! I am SO excited about the yoga pants with the logo! They are incredible fabric, and incredibly reasonable...$39! Yes, you read that correctly!
Here are the choices of ladies tops & bottoms we have in stock.....

GENTLEMAN!! I have not forgotten about you! There will be men's clothing at the studio as well!

I've been asked many times what kind of a DVD do I recommend. Well? You are in luck!! Barefoot has its own DVD, Lengthening and Broadening. I'm not biased because myself, Matt, Holly, & members are in it. That...I am proud of! This video is how we instruct at the studio. It is the same language, method, and teaching approach us instructors use. It is extremely informative, and is a great home practice. It's $25 and can be found at the studio. All other inquiries email the website :)

Friday's are my 'days off' from teaching, and I have the pleasure of taking John's morning class at 9:30. I always praise John because he is a plethora of knowledge! He understands the traditions, philosophy, and the anatomy to a T. He introduces us to postures we might have forgotten, and reignites our curiosity. I just happen to catch him having a unique flower pot of coffee. Literally ;)

My final thought of the day...or moment...is thanking an amazing photographer! Natalee Ferguson is the face behind the beautiful pictures on the website, including my two new photos on the home page. Not only is she just as precious as can be, she is incredibly talented. She might be one of the sweetest, and most genuinely honest people I know. You will see her work much more throughout the website and blog. If you see her at the Open House, please let her know how much we appreciate her dedication! Now I just hope she reads this blog post! ;)

This picture was taken after the posture session of me flipping around finding a unique one to post on the sight. She, being the professional, put me in the following and it was the most serene and calming. Yes, it was the last picture taken.

We are less than two weeks away from the Open House! Mark your calendars~Friday, June 19, 7-9pm. Food provided by Trio's, and entertainment to be announced!

Again, I cannot express enough thanks to the members of Barefoot for opening their hearts to me! Its the greatest warmest feeling! Thank you!

Namaste

Change is beautiful!

I've taken the greatest leap in my life, and could not be happier! For those of you that I haven't met, my name is Breezy Osborne, and I am the new owner of Barefoot Studio in Little Rock, Arkansas. I fell in love with yoga during college (University of Central Arkansas), and an even deeper love with Barefoot stumbling upon it in 2004. I started doing private practices with the previous owners, Matt & Holly Krepps, which eventually turned into teacher training sessions. Then I started their teacher training program offered at the studio, and earned a certification through the Yoga Alliance.

Matt and Holly have bought a working homestead on Shiloh Mountain outside of Jasper, Arkansas. Development as already begun for a full service retreat center, to include residential teacher training, individual healing retreats, group workshops, all include ayruvedic organic meals and cooking classes. We will still collaborate, and hold teacher training workshops and future retreats. Its definitely not a good bye for them, more about us continuing our paths, but working together as well. These teachers, friends, mentors, family of mine are beautiful souls. I am very lucky Holly answered the phone that day I called inquiring about yoga. I am thrilled for their new venture, and happy they felt confident passing their baby along to me :)

The journey yoga has brought to my life is incredible. It has taught me acceptance, patience, and honesty of my self. The instructors at Barefoot give you the tools to create your own space during class; its essentially your class on your mat. Your body changes everyday, even during the day, energies shift, so nurturing your mind and body according to how you feel reaps amazing benefits.

The studio is having an Open House, Friday, June 19, 7-9pm! We will be celebrating the transition of owners, noshing on food prepared by Trio's, and a new inventory of Barefoot clothing & Lovingly Breezy custom jewelry.

This blog will be updated weekly, sometimes daily, by all the instructors. Its important that people have insight to yoga through different souls. Everyone's story is different, but we are all on the same journey.

Again, I can't express enough how EXCITED I am to be living a dream! Matt, Holly and the studio is my second family. I've never wanted to open another studio while Barefoot was still kickin....Barefoot is where my heart is. I am so blessed to have this opportunity, and hope to see you all in class!

By the way, Barefoot is located at 3515 Old Cantrell Road in Little Rock, Arkansas, 72202...behind Loca Luna restaurant in the Riverdale business district.

The studio's website will be updated frequently, so please check it out! All information regardin location, schedules, registration, teachers, workshops, etc...
